about

REVERE MASSACHUSETTS, 1988. Two taller than average 13 year-olds partook in a routine sleep over. Freestyle raps and beatboxing were hastily recorded using a cheap cassette player. The subsequent yield from this momentous occasion was less than impressive, however, in the 26 years since that time, the two boys have not relented in their clumsy attempts at music production; nor have they grown up very much. Paul Foley aka Milk Edwards and James Trocano aka Kno Supreme have dabbled in too many genres to mention and have collaborated together on too many projects to count; from the meaty (falsehood, Warm Bodies, Frankensteez, Wasted Talent) right on down to the mediocre (The Living Crap, White Snack, Double Bundy). Lacking any formal musical tutelage and devoid any real clue as to how to properly operate their instruments, they continue to hit the record button over and over again. They are enamored by music, although they don't rely on music for validation. They both excel in full-time careers and pursue other hobbies for stimulation. Paul is a mental health case worker by day and a rather nifty record player by night. James is professional hair stylist at a high-end salon and a wicked good drawer. They both got juice.

JUICE BELUSHI (aka The Last Bachelors) is Paul and James' latest musical endeavor. Juice Belushi means absolutely nothing, and quite frankly, sounds like a moniker for a couple of dip shits. However, despite the absurdity of the name, the music created is at an Investigation Discovery Network level of seriousness. Their production style of sampling, chopping and layering is deep-rooted in the traditions of Hip-Hop's hallowed golden era (The Bomb Squad, Marley Marl, Prince Paul, SD50's), while the actual aural output of these productions evokes the spirit of early to mid-90's deep house (Larry Heard, Blaze, Kerri Chandler, Romanthony). In order to achieve this authentically classic sound, they sample from actual vinyl records and furthermore, they do not use computers; in fact, they never have. They have only very recently learned how to send emails and use the Google. They still have no idea what MIDI cables are used for. Juice Belushi takes you back to a simpler time when enthusiastic amateurs could trip over a drum machine, bump their elbow on a synthesizer and in doing so create something interesting and beautiful. SUM YUNG GAI!
